Satta Kadir is the first and only tamil Journal that covers legal and human rights issues. It was founded in 1992 by Dr. V.R.S. Sampath as a Monthly.

The first issue of Satta Kadir was released by Honourable Justice of Madras High Court, AR Lakhsmanan on the 29th of October, 1992 at the Museum Theatre, Chennai. It has been growing in circulation ever since.

The articles in Satta Kadir are a rich blend of legal and human rights issues - topical, educative and interesting. With a reputed advisory board and a strong editorial team behind the journal, not to forget the experienced correspondents at important locations, Satta Kadir provides a unique perspective on issues that shape today's legal and human rights world.

Today, Satta Kadir is in circulation among the tamil community in India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa, USA, Canada, UK and several other countries. It is also available at several libraries.

Dr.VRS Sampath Dr. V.R.S. Sampath is the Editor and Publisher of Satta Kadir. A multi-faceted personality, Dr.Sampath is an advocate, legal advisor and board member of several companies, a member of several social and professional associations and author of several books. He has visited many countries and has received several awards from various Indian and International organisations



Dr.Avvai Natarajan is the senior-most tamil scholar. He is a former Vice-Chancellor of Thanjavur Tamil University and has been a Secretary to the Government of Tamil Nadu in the Department of Tamil Development. He has travelled all over the world to give lecture on Tamil literature and culture



Mr.R.Gandhi is a Senior Advocate of Madras High Court. He is a former President of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry Bar Association and Chairman of Madras High Advocates Association and Madras Bar Association. He is also General Secretary of World Federation of Tamils and President of Cosmopolitan Club. He has filed number of Public Interest Litigations for the welfare of the society



Prof.R.V.Dhanapalan is the founder of Central Law College, Salem and Prof. Dhanapalan College for Women at Madras. He has held several prestigious posts in various academic institutions. The widely travelled Prof.Dhanapalan is a recipient of the title 'Fellow of Parliament'



Dr.Ms. P.Nagabhooshnam is the first Vice-Chancellor of Dr.Ambedkar Law University - founded in 1997. She has over 3 decades of experience in teaching and education services. She is currently a research faculty at the Centre for Research on New International Economic Order (CRENIEO). She is a noted Environmental and Human Rights activist - with special interest on refugees.



Mr.Mohan is a Senior Advocate in Supreme Court of India and was recently appointed Additional Solicitor General of India. He is very actively involved in Tamil Development and Law



Dr.Henry Thiagaraj is a noted Human Rights activist. His interest in Human Rights issues was kindled by the exposure he had in the US at the UN Head Quarters while pursuing his fellowship there. He has championed the cause of Human Rights and Dalits all his life - organising several legal workships all over Tamil Nadu. His other contribution is in the foundation of Human Rights Lawyers Forum



Professor Balu is a Professor and Head of the Department of Legal Studies at the University of Madras. He has done his PHd in the early 1980s in Law. He has written many books and given speeches in different parts of the world on International Law



Mr.R.Viduthalai is a Gold Medallist in Master of Law. He has been a Government Pleader at Madras High Court. He is one of the leading lawyers in Madras High Court and specialises in International Law, Labour Law, Service Law and Corporate Law. He is a good orator in English and Tamil



Pulamai Venkatachalam is a noted advocate and respected author of over 50 books on law, history and poetry. His book 'Hindu Marriage Act' has received an award from Tamil Nadu government. He has taught at several academic institutions and is well recognised for his knowledge of tamil language



Dr.R. Meenakshi Sundaram is an Advocate practicing Tax Law. He is also a guest lecturer at the University of Madras. He recently received his PhD.



Mr. Bhagalavan Sethu is a Senior Journalist in Chennai and has served as proof reader and editorial assistant in Vidhuthalai, Kanayaazhi, Murasoli, Dinakaran and number of other weeklies and monthlies



Mr.Seshachalam is an Advocate in Madras High Court and has retired from the Government of Tamil Nadu as a Gazzetted Officer. He has written many books on Law and Tamil.



Ms.Rajalakhsmi is a full time employee of Satta Kadir and is in-charge of DTP, Computer Operations, Proof Reading and Co-ordination. She has completed her M.Phil in Tamil



Dr.Muthuvel is a Professor of Tamil, Government Arts College. He is contributing articles and translations. He has written many books on Tamil literature and has done his PHd on legal tamil



Mr.Rajasekaran is an Advocate in Madras High Court. He is involved in Social activities for the past 15 years. He is working as part-time correspondent and reporter for Satta Kadir - collecting information and news from the Madras High Court



Mr.Sarangapani studied Law at the Bangalore Law College. After beginning his practice at Vaniyambadi, he moved to Bangalore. He has been practising at the Bangalore High Court and City Civil Court for the past 15 years



Mr.Dananjayan is an Advocate in Supreme Court of India. He is helping Satta Kadir in collecting news and information in Delhi for publication



Mr.Sundarasan Menon is an Advocate in the Supreme Court. He shares his office in New Delhi as liasion office for Satta Kadir



Mr.Susi Benjamin is an Advocate in Sydney, Australia. He is a prominent social worker and politician. He is helping Satta Kadir with collecting news and information from Australia for publication



V.Kathiravan designs the magazine layout. He has over 12 years of experience in the multimedia industry - having worked in several companies, handling movie and other projects. He currently runs the multimedia company FXContact in Chennai



Mr.Aravindan has been associated with the printing, publishing and editing of Satta Kadir since 1992. He has a Masters Degree in Physics and is well-versed in Computer and Printing Management



Mr.Alagiri was formerly a full time employee of Satta Kadir managing the office, printing lay out and general co-ordination. At present, he is a lecturer in Pachiappa's College, Chennai and works part-time for Satta Kadir
